Gaming, Tech and Great Meetings at Carolina Games Summit

In August our Marketing Manager Nick Hooker had a chance to visit the Carolina Games Summit held in Raleigh, NC. ARCTIC was invited to join the event as the premier cooling exhibitor.

The Carolina Games Summit featured 3-days of eSports competitions, tech vendors, BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) contest, tabletop games, cosplay, PC-related demonstrations, and more. The XP League North American Finals were also held at the summit. In addition, more than $400,000 in college scholarships were awarded over the weekend.

An ARCTIC vendor booth with video and product displays were available for all attendee to see and visit. 90 custom PCs were built featuring ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II AIOs and P12 PWM PST 0dB A-RGB case fans which were used in competition for the eSports tournament.

ARCTIC also sponsored the Liquid Nitrogen Overclocking demonstrations utilizing MX-5 to reach near-record overclocking speeds. Spectators were invited to watch as processors were pushed beyond limits in the ultimate speed test.

The Games Summit was a great success for the event coordinators, competitors, and attendees. Many players were ranked and awarded throughout the tournament, while others merely played casually for fun or socially with friends.

Old Friends, New friends

A Gaming-Event is a great opportunity to meet with old friends and create new ones. Nick Hooker had the chance to meet with long-time client,Silver Knight PCs of Fayetteville, NC and also with The Tech Monkey who are headquartered in Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, Nick made a few new contacts at the summit including representatives for Mushkin, Paradox Customs, Power GPU, among others. Hooker also met with tech personality Tom of Moore’s Law is Dead (YouTube) and host of tech podcast Broken Silicon, while at the event.

Along the topic of tech personalities, Hooker had the pleasure of meeting the Gamers Nexus team the day before the summit for an in-person meet and greet. He was invited to visit the current offices and had the honor of being the first outsider to tour the new GN HQ under construction.  “It was a great visit and really nice to meet everyone in person,” told Hooker to our redaction team.  “The new location will provide adequate space and accommodations for the growth that Steve and the team have created and so very much deserve.  I wish them the best of success at their new establishment.”

It was an exciting and successful trip for ARCTIC. Hopefully, the world will see COVID-19 come to an end sooner than later, so that we may attend more events, plan more visits, and engage more personally with our friends and fans.  We hope to see you all soon!
